Our cutting tools "BIDEMICS" for processing aircraft parts won Machinery Component Award'CHO' MONODZUKURI Innovative Parts and Components Award 2016
Nagoya, December 1, 2016 ―NGK SPARK PLUG CO., LTD. (Chairman, President and CEO: Shinichi Odo, Headquarters: Nagoya, hereafter NGK SPARK PLUG) pleased to announce that our special cutting tool, BIDEMICS have won Machinery Component Award in‘CHO’ MONODZUKURI Innovative Parts and Components Award 2016.
“BIDEMICS” is our specially-developed products for improving productivity in cutting superalloy used for aircraft engine mainly. Cutting superalloy for aircraft parts is very difficult because it has heat resistance and weldability with tool body itself.
Therefore, we have developed a new material “BIDEMICS” having high-strength and high-hardness. With this tool, you can process superalloy 2 to 15 times faster than conventional tools.
In this selection, originality of this tool is highly valued. We have developed new material with fine ceramics technology, which is our core technology, high efficiency of cutting superalloy and high cost performance. Moreover, most major aircraft engine manufacturers already have begun to use this tool, and highly valued as this tool meets industry expectation.

This award is organized by MONODZUKURI. NIPPON. Conference. and Nikkan KogyoShimbun Ltd.. It is managed to support improving competitiveness of Japanese industry, it established as "MONODZUKURI Innovative Parts and Components Award" in 2004. It changes from "MONODZUKURI Innovative Parts and Components Award" to 'CHO' MONODZUKURI Innovative Parts and Components Award in 2008. It will have been the thirteenth time for that.
