German healthcare startup neoplas med GmbH

NGK SPARK PLUG CO., LTD. (President: Takeshi Kawai, Headquarters: Higashi-ku, Nagoya) have invested in the startup company neoplas med GmbH (Headquarters: Germany, hereinafter neoplas med) through a CVC fund (*1) jointly operated with Pegasus Tech Ventures.
neoplas med has developed a product using a unique wound healing technology called low temperature plasma jet therapy, and is currently expanding sales mainly in Europe.
neoplas med's technology has a track record of treatment with more than 250,000 kINPen (their product name) along with reliable clinical trial data in the wound care field, and further business expansion is being expected in future.
In the "2030 Long-term Management Plan Nittoku BX", we have set out "transformation of business portfolio" to increase the ratio of non-internal combustion engine business, and as one of the measures to realize it, we are promoting the creation of new businesses in "Smart Health", "Decentralized Utilities" and "Smart Mobility" area.
In that effort, in the area of "Smart Health", we are working on wound care that applies our medical plasma technology, and will collaborate with neoplas med to accelerate its business development.

neoplas med plasma jet medical device:
The kINPen® MED product is the world's first cold plasma jet for medical use using argon.
It is the first plasma jet to bear the CE mark as a medical device for the treatment of chronic wounds and acute wounds.
Non-contact treatment is possible with pinpoint accuracy.
Utilize low temperature plasma for infection prevention such as sterilization. It is possible to prevent infections in the wound area and heal them quickly and cleanly.
